Well, it looks like this is the last fruit....of course it would be a watermelon! At week 37, my pregnancy is considered full term, meaning Gabriel is likely to thrive after birth. He spends these last weeks in preparation for the outside world… meaning careful refinement of the blink, suck, inhale and exhale. During the journey out of my womb, he will produce more stress hormones than any other time in life. Poor baby! He is measuring around 19 inches and weighs probably 7 pounds by now...good gracious! When we asked the doctor how much he thought Gabriel weighed, the doctor gave us a big chuckle and replied, you've got a chunky one! So who knows how much he really will weigh.
I'm dilated 1 1/2 centimeters, and I'm hoping to be induced not next week but the next. We'll have to wait until next Tuesday to find out for sure, and to check my progress again. But things are looking great, the doctor just wants him to drop a little more. Can't wait to finally meet our little blessing!
