Eleven Months

Better late than never, right? Gabriel is only one week away from being a ONE year old (tear!), but I have been so busy that I never did his 11 month old update!

He has been so funny this past month...I can just see his little mind starting to put things together. He is officially done with the bottle and only using sippy cups, and we have just switched him over to cow's milk, which he had no problem with! He is eating like a champ--and has loved oranges this month! Grapes too. He has always been a big fruit fan though. He is also standing and took his first three steps the other day! He will take one or two and then sit on his bottom, and crawl around. He is doing this hilarious army-monkey-crab crawl that involves only his hands and feet...it's so funny to watch because he gets to going so fast!

We also took our first beach trip with him this month, and my mom and dad tagged along with us. He LOVED it! He wasn't so sure of the water or the sand at first, but it didn't take long for him to warm up to the beach.

I have been super busy planning his first birthday, but I will be sure to post pictures soon after!!!

Ten Months!

My little munchkin is 10 months old now! Time sure has flown by too quickly. Gabriel is now all over the place...crawling like a champ, standing on his own, cruising around the furniture, and getting in to everything! We spent the past month baby proofing the house, putting gates up, and trying to put away anything he might get into...and he has still found things to get into! He can give kisses now, which is the SWEETEST thing ever! Melts my heart when I get a slobbery Gabriel kiss! He is also the proud owner of FOUR new top teeth. Here are a few pics from the past month. My little man is just growing too fast for me.

Busy, Busy!

I have been slacking on the updating lately because I have been SOOO busy with things! Last weekend, some of the playgroup moms went on a mini vacation to Gulf Shores for some fun in the sun. Great time! I came back and started working on two calligraphy orders (still working on one!), and I am also in the middle of starting a business with two special ladies...whew! I can't wait to get everything going with that. In the meantime, we had some pictures made with our favorite photographer Michelle...and here are a couple from that afternoon. It was a lot of fun!

In other news, my baby boy is NINE MONTHS!! How in the world did that happen? He is a little above average on weight, height, and head circumference, and the doc said everything looked great! Yay Gabriel!

He is starting to pull up on EVERYTHING now, so we have learned not to leave the remote or our cell phones laying around, or they are likely to be stolen by this sneaky little boy. Oh, and he also likes to push his car around the house until it gets too far away from him, then he does a belly flop...pretty darn cute!

And he has also found the joys of the wondrous door stop. This child has found every single door stop in our entire house and will be entertained for forever by hitting it. We always know where he is just by listening for that "boing-ing" sound of the door stop! His nine month photoshoot was a little difficult because he spotted another doorstop while I was trying to snap a picture of him.

And in the middle of all our happenings, we threw mom and dad a surprise 30th anniversary party! We were sweating it until the very end, because that was the day that all the tornadoes were supposed to hit. We decided, tornadoes or not, we are throwing this party! Luckily, the weather had simmered down to a sprinkle once everyone started to arrive. Mom and dad thought they were coming over for dinner, but pulled up to a house full of their close friends and family. It was so much fun surprising them on their big day. Happy 30th!

Outside Fun!

Since the weather has been BEAUTIFUL lately, Munchkin and I have taken it outside several times. He loves the outdoors...as you can tell! Now if only that dang pollen would leave...our whole patio is a lovely shade of yellow right now...

Easter 2010

Munchkin had his first visit from the Easter Bunny this year, and he had a blast! Michelle took some pics of him at Aldridge Gardens and at her house. He was NOT having it, so I think we were lucky to get the few good ones we did!

The Easter Bunny sure was good to him! He really liked his foam swords!

(Some of his cute outfits in his basket)

Dyeing some easter eggs!

Not the prettiest, but oh well!

His new thing is sticking his tongue out when he smiles...can you tell?!

8 Months Old and Ty's Bday!

It's hard to believe the Munchkin is already 8 months. Where has the time gone??? This month, he has been all about moving! He is scooting all over the place, pulling up on us, swinging and bouncing, and more. Gone are the days where we can just sit him in one place and expect to come back and find him in the same spot. Lots of babyproofing needs to be done around here, that is for sure!

He is also eating pretty much EVERYTHING now. Yogurt is one of his favorites, and fruit is another one of his faves. Especially applesauce and pears! Probably because I ate wayyyy too much fruit when I was pregnant with him, haha!

We had so much fun today celebrating Gabriel's friend Ty's first birthday! The birthday festivities were at the Oak Mountain petting farm, which was a blast. It was a perfect day to be outside. Mr. Ty had a great first birthday, with lots of food, presents and of course yummy cake! Can you tell what the theme is? ;)

Munchkin loved seeing and petting the animals, especially the cute goats and sheep. He wasn't scared, just wanted to touch them all!

Birthday Fun

To celebrate Cole's birthday, we decided to head out to Oak Mountain for the day. We rode the paddle boat around the lake, then walked around and explored. I hadn't been to Oak Mountain Park in awhile (besides the barn), and wow, that place is huge. It was such a pretty day too...Munchkin had a blast looking at all the water and hanging out in the paddle boat.

Then we headed to Stix (our favorite Japanese restaurant) to celebrate some more. This was the first time Munchkin had ever been, and he was pretty impressed! He LOVED the fried rice and shrimp :)

Mmmmm...soup!

Wow...fire!

Silly boys!

He loves him some Aunt Tina.
