Growth Update

Well, I've officially hit the 13-week mark. Our baby is now the size of a peach! I love that we can compare the baby to fruit because I'm loving fruit so much right now. Little Bear is forming teeth and vocal cords this week, and now its head now only one third the size of the body. Which is funny, because last week its head was half of its body!

Cole and I were relaxing on our back porch this evening because it was so nice outside, and just chatting about how strange it was to think that there would soon be a swingset back there, and maybe a sandbox, and a little swing hanging off our porch roof! Sometimes I don't even feel pregnant, and it's just so crazy to think of all the baby stuff that will quickly be adorning our little house! We're getting our furniture tomorrow (yayy!!) so I can't wait to see how it will look in the baby room. The picture shows it in a girl's room, but we made sure to see how blue looked with it as well...just as cute, believe me!

So now comes the hard part....the waiting game! Waiting to see if we will be buying pink stuff or blue stuff! I've had a feeling this whole pregnancy that it is going to be a boy, so it will be interesting to find out. Cole thinks it's a girl...just because all our friends have been having boys. I am just ready to know...like, now!!!
I know one thing is for sure though...whatever it is, it will be greatly loved! We are so excited to be having our little one, and August 3rd cannot get here fast enough. I feel so blessed to have gotten pregnant so quickly, and so blessed to have had such a smooth pregnancy thus far (knock on wood!) God is so good!

WOW...

My friend gave me this website to try and see what our baby could possibly look like. So I uploaded a picture of Cole and I, and THIS is what shows up...

I'm not so sure about you guys, but I HOPE ours doesn't come out like this! I'm a little worried now...what if our baby has an afro!!!

It's a....baby!

So, one of my friends informed me yesterday that once you get pregnant, you have to start a blog. I thought this was a great idea, and it will help keep all of my friends and family updated on all the lovely things going on inside my belly!

We'd only been trying for a couple of months, so it really came as a surprise to both of us. Cole thought I was joking when I showed him the positive pg. stick. I mean really, how could I pull that off as a joke, and why would that ever be funny! We were going to try and keep it a secret until Christmas, but ended up telling our families just a week later. Of course, they were over the moon excited.

Let's see...I am currently 12 weeks pregnant, and just beginning my second trimester. Pregnancy so far has been great! Not too much morning sickness, thank goodness. I was really REALLY tired in the beginning, but thankfully that has slacked off. I'm eating like a horse...literally. During the first few weeks I wanted cheeseburgers like they were going out of style. And I'm not talking restaurant burgers...I'm talking greasy, gross, dog food grade Quarter Pounders with cheese. My recent craving has been fruit. Cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple...anything juicy just sounds good all the time. Guess that's a little healthier than burgers, anyways!

So, here is our little bear on his/her 12 week appointment. The doc couldn't find the heartbeat at first, but finally found it after what seemed like HOURS later. (It was probably like 10 seconds, but still...felt like forever). He let us have an ultrasound since he about gave us a heart attack! The baby's head is on the bottom left (its nose is sticking up), its body is on the right side, and its two legs are sticking up in the air. Please ignore the lovely thumb print!

And it is now the size of a plum! After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of its systems are fully formed. Now it just needs to grow! So far, I've only gained a couple of pounds and although I'm only showing a little, I'm already out of all my regular pants and into all maternity now. They are so comfy and roomy! I really might just wear these all the time. They are like pajama pants that you get to wear to work.

Well, I guess that's all for now...I will try my best to keep you updated on all the excitement of babyhood!
